The pictures used in the kindle version are so low resolution that they are unviewable and unreadable. I'm only three chapters in, but I was compelled to write this review because a screenshot of an email was used as an example of an origin story, but I am unable to read the example. Kindle books are commonly read on high-res devices these days, and the images used in kindle books should be optimized for such devices.I have to give the Kindle version one star because of this oversight, otherwise The User's Journey would be at least 4/5, maybe even 5/5 when I finish.

The book is easy to read and the content is extremely useful. There are a lot of books out there that look at narrative and story, some more complex, some less - this one is all about applying ideas in practical ways. Its valuable stuff, and its very accessible.

This book came to me at the perfect time. I’m working on a new product that seemingly has no boundaries but reading through this book and starting to apply concept, origin and usage stories to my thinking has helped me to shape, and more importantly, share the overall story of what the product is.Written with a light touch and imbued with humour, this is both a fun and productive read.Wish she would visit NZ!

This is a very good book that underlines the basics we must have on marketing your business your product or yourself. Telling good stories is hard when you need to structure it. This book gives the structure in a basic form you can leverage. The only thing I wish I could see in this book is more examples. A workbook would help as well. At the end, I definitely recommend anyone doing anything that needs a story behind and be sure you need stories to make it communicate.

Once I finished it, I immediately mapped out my current project workflow and found a cliffhanger! I reworked the end of the experience and usability tests showed improved results. A great book to have everything all together all in one place, especially if you don't have access to scientific journals. If you do, I don't think there's anything in this book you couldn't easily locate in a journal.Each reaction gives a description of the reaction, any problems that must be overcome, describes the work-up, and sometimes a bit of the history. It then shows the reaction with different types of reactants, then the mechanism, and then some examples from the literature. The reactions are color coordinated usually with reactants in blue, catalyst in green, and nucleophile in red. This makes the mechanisms easy to follow.A must have for any organic chemist!

If you're going to grad school for organic chemistry, you'll need this book. It's high quality, easy to follow, has great mechanisms and real-world examples. I was able to get my copy signed when the author came to give a talk at my University, added bonus!

The content of the book is a must have for organic chemists.However, the first sentence on page xiv states that “the book uses four colors (black, red, blue, and green)....”. The colors in the book that I received are incorrect: the red is pink and the green is yellow. The yellow is very difficult to read. This is clearly a manufacturing/printing issue. I am exchanging the product in hopes that the new copy has the correct colors.

Let me preface this review with: I have a huge library of chemistry related books, of which books relating to name reactions has a prominent footprint. With that said, this is one of the most readable of its kind. Before this, I enjoyed the Jie-Jack Li name reaction book. However, as with all of them, it was just a reference manual. Kurti's, however, is a well thought out "text" with background on each reaction and color coded mechanisms. It is an excellent book for both beginners and PI's. Sick as it may sound, I actually purchsed a second copy for home as well as the office. My conclusion is that this is one of maybe 3 name reaction books that make a complete reference set.

The best handbook for organic synthesis. Everything is in such details and organized picture.

I had a retrosynthetic organic chemistry exam today and it was open book. So I brought this book to my exam and it helped a lot to do my exam. This book doesn't help for some of the named reactions that much. But they have provided great in detail what are the references we have look at and it is really helpful the reaction categories tables at the back of the book. So I would like to recommend this book for anyone who likes to refer more about named reactions and this is very helpful to the people who interested in synthetic organic chemistry.

I ordered this to use as a reference in my advanced synthesis course, as well as a reference in the lab. This book has been quite an asset in both instances. I highly recommend this to any synthetic organic chemist or grad student alike.
